What is a Quelfire QIF Fire Sleeve?
The QIF combines mineral fibre insulation with intumescent material to provide a firestopping solution around specified pipe penetrations.
It can be used in a range of wall and floor constructions, including appropriate concrete walls and floors and fire-rated plasterboard partitions.
QIF can also be used alongside the QuelStop Fire Batt system in tested configurations.
Quelfire QIF Pipe Sizes
Quelfire offers QIF sleeves for pipes from approvimately 15mm to 169mm diameter.
The sleves are supplied in 300mm lengths and can be cut to the required length in accordance with Quelfire's installation requirements.
The QIFalso provides thermal insulation around the pipe as it passes through the compartment line.
Quelfire QIF Fire Rating
Quelfire QIF has been tested to BS EN 1366-3, with specified configurations providing up to four hours fire resistance.
The achieved fire rating depends upon the pipe type, diameter, substrate and complete installation detail.
